Brazil-Germany Economic Meeting in Hanover
We participated in the Brazil-Germany Economic Meeting 2026, held this year during the first day of the Hannover Messe. The opening ceremony was attended by President Lula and the German Prime Minister, Friedrich Merz, as well as representatives from the CNI (National Confederation of Industry), BDI (German Development Bank), and ministries from both countries.
Several debates took place, including the panel “Responding to Global Geopolitical Challenges” with the participation of Ingo Plöger, president of the Brazilian section of the Brazil-Germany Business Council and CEO of Companhia Melhoramentos; Marcio Elias Rosa (MDIC – Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade), Katherina Reiche (Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy), and Thomas Schmall (LADW and Volkswagen AG). Topics related to increased trade between the two countries, tax issues, and current global political challenges were highlighted.
