The opening of the 13th edition of Green Rio was attended by Secretary Bernardo Rossi. On this day, Green Rio Day was held, as part of the first OECD Rural Development Conference in Latin America. The program included a panel discussion by the Undersecretary of Water Resources and Sustainability, Ana Asti, on “Blue Economy – Municipalities as Transforming Agents.” The SEAS (State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainability) booth presented the “Educating for Sustainability” program, a traveling initiative focused on environmental education in schools and communities throughout the state. The institutional stand also featured scientific exhibits from the State Environmental Institute (INEA).

In addition to these activities, on November 27th, the Secretariat supported the Demo Day of the BlueRio program, an initiative focused on connecting startups to the challenges of the ocean economy. The Brazilian debut of the Blue Innovation and Business Fair (FINA) also took place on November 28th, following its first edition in Lisbon. On November 29th, the space hosted PISTA (Social, Technological and Environmental Innovation Parks), a program developed in partnership with Faperj that aims to promote innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship in territories and communities of Rio de Janeiro state.
